I like your progress Juergen, I hope you are not overdoing it, I just noticed that you had been out of action. But nothing gets in the way of an upcoming AP system.

The only thing..

I'm not sure what bull is going thru..
Me.. My heart... it playing up..[AF]

I'm also Kicking myself.. I really think If I could redesign my system I really think I could get my whole system working off Air.. No Mechanical Pumps at all..
It's sort of driving me nuts at the moment.. I know what I want to do but can't.. unless I want to dump over 8000lt of water.. and redo all the plumbing..

All I can say is next time.. in a different location.. Bigger/Better system..

sounds like what nearly everyone goes though. you think you have it right, then almost as soon as its running, you actually figure out how all the bits go togehter, and figure out a better way to make it work.

Yep I'm Going Gravity feed raft system and I'm Looking at Blue Close cell insulation.. I have 1" but I'm not sure if that will do..

What is is the optimum distance for the holes in the raft's.. Is there any formula..
20cm more or less..

I have 2 feeds for this raft tank..
1 from the GB#2..
1 from the main Feed Line..

I dont know much about rafts snow but Id imagine just enough to give the plants growing space - much the same as you would do in a gravel bed, hopefully you will have copious amounts of nitrates available so I would get as many in as I could, doubt there is a magic formula.

I added about 300ml of 20g/l cloudy ammonia to the fish tank.. today..

I'll see if I get a Reading tomorrow..
I've had 2 goldfish in the tank since I filled it before Xmas, The media in the moving media filter is still nice and white.. I added a hand-full of seed K1 to the filter..

For now I hope this will help in the initial cycle of the growbed's..

Due to my flow Cycle I figure as the GB's pick up the load of Ammonia the Percentage of conversion done in the Moving media filter will Drop off..

I hoping in the long run that the moving media is My hold card..

Don't use "cloudy" ammonia... it contains surfacants that can kill your fish...

Does it "foam" if you shake it in the bottle???

Most "cloudy" ammonia's have both surfacants and perfumes in them...
