It wouldn't even build mate.
The compiler didn't even give an error, it just said "Build Failed"
I know that's not Linux's fault, but all in all, it was just too much effort for a dinky screen.

LOL i have been there a few times. Usually because i am searching for the wrong thing, or i am dealing with some cheap POS hardware that the manufacturer couldnt even get decent drivers written for.
