Some dwarf lemon trees only grow to like 6' tall. Can they be AP?

I am going to use flood and drain with the lemon tree I am going to put in, as trees like good drainage.

Newbie question:

If the container for the tree is 1/3 submerged in fish tank, would that be OK or still need to either constant flow or flood/drain?

Sounded like I can submerge the whole barrel in water so long that I provide oxygen to the root, like air stone?

What they're attempting to do is use an airlift, which is a low head water pump that uses density differences to create flow, to circulate the water into the growbed. Afterwards, it flows out cleaner from the plant's uptake of nutrients. The idea is to get the flow going using the least ammount of energy. There is much debate right now about what is more efficient, airlifts, or good pond pumps. I like the "idea" of airlifts, but would not be able to make it work in my current plans.

Citrus really likes good drainage and has very fine roots that are near the surface and suffers from collar rot,I dont think it would like a AP system .....if it was to work it would need to be flood and drain

..........Just a guess
