And, today there are another 10 or so babies down in the sump. Just eyes with tails.

Dad is the one in the pictures with the orange fins. The 2 moms are bluish.

I showed my son this and he brought his huge box of legos to me and said lets build. Great job man, what part of SC are you in?

I'm in the woods north of Charleston. Close to Mount Pleasant. And since you're in Anderson, "Go Tigers!"

Unfortunately, plants weren't doing real well in this system and I needed the space to bring a 10 gallon aquarium out of my son's room that he wouldn't stay out of. So, I just spent the morning disassembling it.

Any chance at some detailed pictures on how this is put together? I am completely new at this, but it looks like exactly what we need, and would have a fantastic place in our kitchen by the windows..

The legos are, of course, not necessary but were available to me and FUN!
The system was set up for CHIFT PIST with a SLO draining the fish tank into the grow beds and Affnan type siphons draining the grow beds into the sump tank where the pump sent the water back up into the fish tank.
The touchy parts were drilling holes in the acrylic tanks for the SLO overflo and the siphon drains. Those acrylic tanks are kind of brittle but I had them laying around.

I hate to dig up a year-old thread, but this is too awesome :)

Is it still running? Any issues keeping it stable?

I did not give the system a fair chance as far as lighting is concerned. And the beans I planted in it took over the grow beds with their roots. but it certainly was fun and a good learning experience. I'm getting ready to try another micro system soon. Just no Lego this time.
