So did the screw break or the wood? If it was just the screw then why not just put some heavier gauge screws in?

The screw broke, and the timbers were bending anyway.
I could have fixed it with bigger screws, and some vertical supports screwed to the sides of the cage, however it would still be made from shitty pine.

Looks a bit neater with the steel i think too. I have a jebao pump as well. Different to that one, but it runs quiet enough. Although you probably arnt that worried about noise :)

Not worried about noise, it's far enough from the house. The aquarium inside drowns it out anyway :)

It is 50mm RHS (boxpipe)
The basic U shape was welded first then just placed on top of the vertical bits of IBC cage.
Then just welded up. Welding was very messy (welding through the paint didn't help), but I shouldn't complain about free work. As long as it holds I guess ;)

Bit of an update..
I think all but one of my gudgin are dead, is it bad to add additional ammonia when you have fish? However the plants are growing like crazy so it's not all bad ;)

This is the original tomato seedling i showed previously, exactly 2 weeks ago. Lots of growth. Some Kale growing in the background there too..

What is it with kids and gravel?
My mate's wife brings their grandson round to look at the fish from time to time.
In nano-seconds he's grabbed some gravel and from 20 feet away manages to throw it in the FT with amazing accuracy and consistency :)
