I just had another look at the photo's and noticed the red stuff blocking the open ends of the ibc frame. Just curious what you used? As I am going to need to do something similar for my system.

Yeah its just a bit of electrical tape, i put it on to stop little hands from getting scratched on the rough metal. A good tradesman would have grinded all the cuts nice and smooth but i couldnt be assed and i hate using grinders.

My little Platy's are still alive so thats a good sign, we are getting a heap of rain at the moment and its suprising to see how well the plants cope with it in the grow beds, i assume this is just because of the superior drainage in a grow bed as oppossed to planting in the ground.

Have to go shopping at the tip shop this week and see if i can find something to make a lid out of for my fish tank, i am thinking of getting a couple of old window fly screens and securing them to wood and then nail some bamboo screen over the top.

Fish should be here in a few weeks so that is a bit exciting, all the family just shook thier heads having no idea what i was trying to build a few weeks ago, now there is a consistent "oh thats cool" with all the visitors, and "So you built that?"

the rain will also clear your water. all the sediments in it will settle out very quickly
