My system redesign plans justify a new thread, it's gonna be much bigger than the third and we are entering a new year anyway.
Overview:
3 Tanks, 1 x 800L, 1 x 280L and 1 x 250L (Total 1330)
12 x 200L GB's - Concrete, sealed with potable water paint (2400L)
4 x 135L GB's - From the 3rd system (540L)
4 x DWC "tanks" with integral shading, leafy greens etc.
In ground sump 800L or 1200L haven't got around to doing the calcs yet.
1 x 800L sand filter or similar.

3 Separate tanks will allow me to keep different fish, or the same fish at different ages, or perhaps for the first season, experiment with different feeds/growth rates etc.

Looks like a busy couple of months next year

I want the big tank raised a bit, the overflow from that has to travel some distance in underground piping and then back up again to the GB outlets.
The block in sketchup was the easiest way to draw that, still not exactly sure how I'll do it in RL.
If you mean the red tank, that box is the concrete wall around the septic tank, that tank will sit on that and hide it perfectly

Looks like the tank is a sump, due to the Level and the plumbing coming from the GBs. The box may indicate the Sump Size is still being figured out. Or is it an existing feature (pool that the sump can conveniently go in)?

Yeah there's 3 tanks in concrete boxes in the pic, I wasn't sure which one DD was talking about.
The underground one is an existing hole that I tried to line with pond liner, but it leaked too much.
There isn't any concrete in it, just a hole in the ground.
The plan is to put 2 x 80cm x 40cm concrete pipes together for the sump and paint them with a sealant.

Its a great idea, how do you plan to seal the bottom of the pipe?
Just lay a slab then grout it? (with some mechanical strength as well)

They do the base for you at the "factory" for a few baht more.
Thai people love their little guppies and the like, you see these things all over the place, outside shops etc. etc.
They even come with a PVC fitting in the side at the bottom, usually a 18mm or 20mm one, so I'm hoping I can get some with 25mm or bigger, though 25 should be ok.

Been to buy the concrete rings today.
Sold out, grrrr.
I ordered some, they promised less than 2 weeks, we'll see.
One learns not to hold one's breath here
Each 200L GB cost 270 Baht (about 9USD) - I'll seal them with a potable water sealer which will increase the cost slightly.
The rings without the base are 135 Baht meaning I could make 400L FT's for a little over 13USD.
Being concrete they are rather heavy, but still a rather nice "almost" portable and cheap solution.

Ah! we have discussed, concrete is the cheapest reliable choice in Thailand.
But you have make your own design. Subcontractor will design in more expensive way.

No idea, guessing around 30kg (for the ones with the base.
Nice thing being round, you can roll them into place.



Hehe, yup, most Thai people don't have a truck (and nor do I now... long story....) so thankfully delivery of this type of stuff is usually free and expected.
