I found a YouTube video that explained the plumbing.

Now on to my next question...

When burying an IBC tote to use as a sump do you have to reinforce the sides? Their made to handle the weight of other totes being stacked on them so I was wondering about the ground pushing in on them from the sides? Also is it wise to build a base for them when burying?

Now for the tricky part, could I connect multiple burried IBC sumps together? Im trying to make the most of the available space that I can, so if I could connect mulltiple sumps together... I don't know if the possible complications that could arise from this would make to risky or what.

This would allow me to still have one pump and be able to handle the run off if many mor GB while using less space. The biggest complication that jumps out at me is if the plumbing that connects the IBC starts to leak.

My suggestion would be to put some thing around the IBC to stop the soil from pushing in on the bladder. While its full of water it's fine, but once the water is pumped out, you run the risk of soil collapsing in.

In my case, I was lazy and kept the bladder on the base it came with, and just buried the whole thing. Given the base is metal, rust may eventually become a problem, but i'm hoping that is far enough down the track that it doesn't matter.

One more thing, make sure that the tap is closed and sealed, and doesn't leak. The last thing you want to do is to dig it up again.
