I am starting to get a bit worried about the weight aquaponics has on its shoulders...

So many promises...

Interesting clip.
I remember when I lived in Surin, the people there were happy to get 1 bag of rice from 1 rai of land.
Yet I knew an American living 20km to the North who got 3 to 4 bags per rai by managing it properly,
and by properly, I mean sustainibly, and organically.

Education is what's needed in the 3rd world, and not just about AP (though that would be great)
Many Thai farmers just chuck more and more chemical fertilizer on their land to produce the same harvest every year and inevitably get further and further into debt.

But that's probably what the fertiliser companies have told them they need to do...

Yes, indeed.
They even "lend" the fertilizer to the farmers, who pay for it when the harvest is done.
Crazy, but you can't tell them any different, god knows I have tried.

? That video is weird, AP is in a different font and in the way. Did someone just paste that on top of an existing video or something? It's not a religion you know, would pasting the word hydroponics be just as weird?

Edit: it's definitely pasted on top of an existing video. Stupid.

You're dead right Dave... the video was first posted on the ning community...

After some crticism... the heading has been changed.. to now read...

(modified from the original version by Frank Gapinski to show how Aquaponics should be a part of our world food solution!)

This CCRES mob is crawling all over the net... spammingly promoting themselves and aquaponics as being called "CCRES AQUAPONICS".... every aquaculture, agriculture, permaculture and aquaponics blog... and youtube...

The pics they posted on the ning community are apparantly of a system they recently built.... as of a couple of months ago...

Which now qualifies them to..... wait for it... yep design and install commercial systems... all over the world.....

Where can money be invested today that will give the investor a reasonable rate of return and more importantly assure a safe investment that will be long lasting and be selling product into a growing and insatiable market? Go through the list of all of the possibilities you can think of, and then, add in these additional benefits to the equation:

Produces food on a year round basis
Can be solar powered
Can use recycled water
Employs local semi-skilled labor (women, men, young and old)
Enhances the value of the property and surrounding property
Is non-polluting
Produces organic food and requires 90% to 95% less water than in-ground growing
Can be installed nearly anywhere in the world
Produces an organic fertilizer that can be used on any crop or plants

How are we doing? Interested enough yet to ask, “What’s the catch?” or do you need more benefits?
Let’s add in:
Unlimited expansion in a designated territory
NO FRANCHISE FEES
Small annual renewal fee
Constant updates to the technology
Engineers available to be on site to help with the initial installation
Consulting help at a very reasonable rate

If you are NOT interest yet, stop reading. This opportunity is for first adaptors who are sophisticated investors and willing to help the industry expand into new territories.
CCRES AQUAPONICS (large aquaponics systems combining aquaculture – the culture of fish, with hydroponics – using only water and water based nutrients to raise plants) is over 4,700 years old and is not new technology. What CCRES AQUAPONICS has done is to bring the technology into the 21st Century through the use of simple modern equipment and careful design. The commercially designed CCRES AQUAPONICS are modular, simply constructed from locally obtained materials, easy to operate and very nearly failure proof. The systems can lose power for over twelve hours and have NO adverse effects on the plants or fish.

No power for 12 hours... without affecting the fish or plants.... probably because they use Koi....

Anything that the World Bank promotes should be treated with caution. Or at least what they intend to do with it anyway... There is always an agenda with these guys, and in most cases isn't good.
