Thats what ya get for having one of the best places online to get AP info. Congrats on such a great site thats more about getting the knowledge about AP out there for free rather than just about how much cash you can strip outta peoples pockets

That was quick going from 5000 to 6000. I remember a post about the 5000th, and I haven't been here very long at all.

Seeing this is about stats....

We hit 5000 back at the start of June 2011
4000 was hit around July 2010
And 3000 was septemper 2009
2000 was in november 2008

So yes, looks like it's been about 10 months per 1000 members in the past, till this last 1000 which only took about 6 months...

And we don't force people to join up to view images or certain areas of the forum.. Damn I hate that.. I end up on many forums when researching different thing, computers/software/cars/plants etc etc... And it's really annoying when you have to join up just to see an image or one piece of information, especially if you know you are likely never to return there again.

I wonder how many of the members are actually active?

that's the tough one. you could always go through every member's profile, check when they joined, when they last signed in, how many posts they have made

I really dislike the sites that make you sign up to view the images.

Well, I know there's a lot of sites on the net that do.... but that's because there's people who are prepared to pay to view those sorts of images...

My guess would be to reduce bandwidth use. The people who actually want to see the images are more likely to sign up to view them rather than just someone surfing. I hate those forums too btw
