I think my water has cleared up as much as it is going to. I have planted out a fair bit of the big gb and have been running continuous for a couple of weeks now.
I experimented with syphons but was to fidly for my liking and I am ok with water not being crystal clear.
I will post some pics soon.

I think your water will clear soon.
If you haven't, try covering the tank or anywhere where the water is exposed to sunlight.
I had the same earlier this year, it seems to disappear as quickly as it came.
Good luck mate.

Cheers Dui,
I have shade over Ft and over whole system,( Ft at back)so hopefully it clears up. It does seem to be getting better. As I have had the past week off I have been dumping water through system by pulling out standpipe. Just to try and get max water though system and aeration for fish.
I was thinking last night as I feed for the first time in a week that maybe the baby prawn (dried) food I had got from Koi farm might have contributed to water going green. I was not using exclusive the prawns , just add to the food I got from Byap. I am crushing up Byap pellets when I feed as well for the little Koi. I am thinking off cutting down on feed probably cut it back by. 30%.
After messing with syphons I am back flood and drain with standpipe. I was also thinking off doing the timing 30 min flood and 30 min drain, I tried 15min drain but big gb does not drain completely and the timer is in 15min lots.
I recon a second standpipe in the big gb could be on the cards so that they drain in similar times.

On non Ap things, this is the new wicking bed just completed.
Resevior material is recycled juice and soda water Bottles, inserted 100mm pipe for water delivery. This was covered by shade cloth, then hay filled the bed followed by a trailer load of vege rose mix. Overflow at shade cloth level.
At the start the perimeter is recycled jarrah sleepers 2 high. Leveled as they sat on ground. Old carpet laid on floor, then old but strong plastic then a new plastic liner, not pond liner just heavy duty builders plastic. Plastic nailed down with left over cedar lining boards along top of sleepers.
Thanks to the crew over at Backyard farming.
