50 pressure pipe and fittings can be quite pricey retail. Hence why people go for the 90 sw. If you give me a couple of days I will take some pics of how I have done my slo using both 40mm dwv and incorporating a 40mm pressure valve. Like I said it can be done, a couple of ways. I think I used all threaded fittings. I'll be back Sunday or monday.

as you can see a 3 meter piece of PVC will make it right across the front of my gb's, what do you recommend on getting the water into the beds themselves?

Well I can chime in with my contribution on this end of things. I cut the pipe and insert a T fitting inline, and do the same at the other grow bed. Put a short length of pipe into the T opening, don't glue any of it.

This makes an easy control valve:
Too much flow? Twist the T so the open "leg" is raised, gravity reduces the flow.
Not enough flow? Twist it downwards. Or remove the little pipe from the T. The water will get to all the plants that have roots.
My favorite part - No chance of closing it off completely, as with a ball valve.

It's a ZEN kind of balance... :hippy2:

That sounds like a great idea smin and it would reduce cost a little by removing the need for inline taps, do you have tge water just flow straight onto bed or do you have it land on something else first?

With your FT sitting up on the veranda I would guess that you would have at least 500-600mm head above the GBs. So I would run with 50mm DWV. If your out Bushland Beach go and see Malcolm's setup (MalcolmC on this forum). PM me and I'll give you his number.

Thanks chainsaw,

For the gravity feed to the gb I will use a 90mm SLO then rucethat down to my 40mm dwv to feed into the grow beds.

Fir the feed from st back to ft I am going to go with the recommended 50mm pressure pipe all the way which in reality is only about 2m from sump to ft
