hello everybody!!!

for starters my name is Damon, some of you may have seen me on some of the other Aquaponics forums on the internet, and others, whisper my name in dark corners due to the stories that they've heard.

i did my time on the Friendly Aquaponics farm for about a year, and yes, i chose the words correctly for that last sentence. in the year since my departure from that farm i've been making my rounds spreading the word of aquaponics to anyone that will listen.

i'm a big activist in the eradication of false numbers and the misinformation of aquaponics that i see alot of people shelling out just so they can sell their "kits" and "manuals." one of the biggest problems the aquaponics community faces are the people that are making this science look bad on a grand scale. things like faulty projections for commercial systems and false claims in the same arena are my specialty... you can see examples of this all over youtube.

mainly i figured, since im taking an active roll in a few other aquaponic forums, why not add another to the list.

if anyone has any personal questions to ask, please feel free to contact me via my personal email address nomadatlop@msn.com. i know that there are certain things that can and cannot be said on the forums, so if i ever direct you to e-mail me privately please dont feel insulted by this... most of the e-mails that i field are about the people of Friendly Aquaponics, my experience on their farm, and what it was like to get hand cuffed by the DEA while on their farm. the other 60% of the e-mails are the normal questions about aquaponics and it's possible commercial viability. either way, feel free to contact me at any time.

I for one, don't have a problem with anyone challenging bad systems designs, grandeoise claims, or distortions of facts or science...

lol yes rupert, i have seen you around too. honesty should always be the policy of the kingdom, and by what i've seen the kingdom is falling apart... i just do what i can to keep the integrity of aquaponics in tact.

Ahhhh right yes I know who you are now.... False claims and exaggerations seems to be a standard for many entering AP in any commercial form, whether selling information and/or systems. I especially love the instant experts and gurus that come out of nowhere. It seems that for many it's purely about how much noise you can make, and who you can step on to get a leg up on some imagined AP ladder..

lol my favorite thing to do is to exploit people's mathematics and show them how blatantly wrong they are... and then show them actual facts and figures that were recorded and not projected... sometimes the differences are in the millions of pounds range.

also all of those people selling kits... saying all you need is a place to build and sunlight... well... canada has alot of flat land and sunlight... but that frigid temperature will get ya! or how about that guy that claims to grow thousands of pounds of food per week with only 10 hours of work a week... that one kills me.

it's just that if these scammers and schemers go unchecked, people will have about as much faith in aquaponics as we have faith in those nigerian email scams where someone in some country and a large sum of money that they want you to invest for them...

if the people shelling out false information continue we'll loose the trust of the general public and be seen as a scam... yes the numbers of people doing aquaponics are growing, but a vast majority of the world population has yet to hear about it, and like i said before im just trying to protect the integrity of this science...

i've always believed that if you have the ability to right a wrong, then you have the responsibility to right that wrong.
