You can come and share mine. It's not massive but should be enough for two families.

We actually have our eyes on a place that is only a few miles from here but 10 acres of old defunked orange grove with wells and irrigation as well as a habitable dwelling.

I like the vague generality of "habitable dwelling".
All that elbow room that 10 acres provides allows for some compromise on the living structure. It's a decision I made and don't regret a bit. And I only got 2 1/2 acres to settle for living in a trailer. But it does back up to a nice size pond and the National Forest.
Hoping for the best for you!

And the house is not all that bad either. For 10 acres we are willing to put up with a lot. The even bigger selling point is that it is sooooooo close to where we are now. In general you gotta go much further out or get into swamp land to get much acreage at a reasonable price around here.

Nope. But there are some people around who seem to think that they should be allowed to dictate what everyone else in area does.

We have 3 'neighbours' with dogs who bark at each other almost all day - constant yapping.

Our other neighbour who is also frustrated with this, and who we only share our eggs with, has agreed to support the plan.

Next week we have a rooster joining our flock.. muahahahaha...

(Only rules here on poultry is "no insanitary conditions")

I can only hope we can get the farm land. Frustrating waiting because everyone is on holiday.
