John and Peter headed for the hills on Friday to install 2 systems that would fit side by side. Growing in raised beds is the only way to garden in the hills as it is almost impossible to dig into the heavy gravel and rock. David paved an area and set up a shadecloth structure to protect the plants from strong winds and the harsh summer sun. Peter and John said it was ideal conditions on a hot day for the installation as they were shaded and there was no levelling required.

Where does the water come from up there? Looks pretty dry...

your not wrong about it being hard up in teh hills, when we used to live in Lesmurdie you could dig about 20-30cm before you hit hard rock. When I was a kid and we built an extension on the house they had to use explosives to make a big enough hole to put the leech drains in. We had a massive pool in the backyard to, kinda feel for the people that must of dug it because it would of taken a lot of work.

System looks good, water looks real clean!
