Regarding the tomatoes, you can probably grow cherry tomatoes up there. I grew up in Innisfail and they grew fine there. And Innisfail gets MUCH more rain than Cairns (+50%)

Cherry tomatoes seem indestructible, never seem to get any disease, no fungus, fruit never seem to get attacked by anything.. Just a shame they aren't...bigger :D

Not that way.. I'm a Competitive shooter..

I try to shoot better and beat my own times/score..
I shoot Cowboy Action or Single Action as it is know in the States..

I would never shoot anyone, But if you happen to be a Bunny, or some other animal Vermin the story is completely different..

Mmmm I like Rabbit for dinner..

I was kind of yanking your chain for fun but turned out to be quite interesting. I didn't know this type of shooting group existed.

Probably just as well, in most countries the authorities frown on this.

Cheers Juergen

Lol, I knew what you meant, Snow. Do you have any vid/YouTube of yourself competing??

Small update.

Lecky cable and conduit laid. Trench filled and watered in, hopefully watering as I went has settled the soil enough that it won't sink further. I only had the smallest amount of leftover soil, so I think it did work.

Image

Couldn't get hold of a spare IBC cage, so invention was called to fill that necessity. I had my heart set on using the top half of each cage as a surround for the GBs, so I decided to follow advice given here and use ply to reconstruct the leftover sections, as well as with hold soil...

A few cable ties...

...and the new "cage" :)

Now to bury FT and cage/box. Might fill FT beside the pool first to check for leaks...brb! :)

Looks like a great system in the making mate, I am building a two IBC system myself but it's all above ground and I'm using a sump.

Keen to see how you go with the barra, I am in Townsville and when I am ready for fish I am thinking of starting with Jade Perch, depends on what fingerlings I can get hold of at the time.

Looks like your IBC had waste oil in them? One of mine did and I am having trouble getting the residue out of the bottom, have scrubbed and sprayed used detergent, bleach, degreaser lol I am hoping I can get them clean enough.

Yeah, one of them had oil in. I managed to get all the residue off with first wash, but have had two washes since and now soaking in water/bleach/vinegar for luck. I have time up my sleeve, so will drain that liquid and do a few fill up/waterchange/fill ups before it's all good to go.

A few more pics.

Cage in

FT and backfilled. I'll let this settle a few days and add more soil.

And onto phase two of the project...

Helps when you have the right gear :)

That's all.

Merry Christmas everyone!! :)

Was going to say you could of used a sheet of ply that was as high as you tank to help give the top section more protection..

But whatever you have done some great work so far..

Keep it up..

Juergen..

Psst I have water in my fish tank..

I hope that conduit was 500 deep and some marker tape went in at 250mm

Might just be the photo but looks a bit shallow.

Due to influences of an in-law nature, my family will be doing Chrissie lunch tomorrow, so I will have a day of rest :)

Got a fair bit done today, after taking yesterday away from this. Doesn't look like much in the pics, but covered a lot of ground.

Speaking of ground...good ol' FNQ wet season!!

Image

Was incredibly hot this morning...which built into a nice, afternoon rainstorm and turned the yard into a veritable quagmire!

Still, the show must go on...

Image

Rafters and battens in next, then the project will slow up. Wanted to get this much done while on holidays, but the rest of the set up will be done as funds and time allow. And I do want to have a proper holiday while I can, lol.

Have decided to call this phase done :) Still have to add some bracing under GBs, but that's pretty much it for the framework.

Next will be the poly-carb clear roofing and plumbing.

A couple pics.
