I em pretty sure its not powerful enough, i will be running CHIFT PIST with 800litre FT and 300litre ST, height from ST to top of FT approximately 1.5m.

I guess all i can do is hook it all up and see what happens.

Looked up the flow chart for that model.... @ 1.5mtr head... it only pumps 250l/h...

That would struggle to supply a small NFT hydro table....

There's no way it will run a Chift Pist... or anything else for that matter....

Lol thanks Rupert, I thought that would be the case. I am short for cash so I am hoping to pick up a pump locally for under $100, would any of the aqua pro pumps do the job? They seem to be one of the cheaper brands that peopl are using.

Superveg found this one on eBay, obviously a cheapy but the specs seem to be pretty good, any thoughts?

That might be a cheap pump, but it's going to cost you in the long run with power consumption.. It is twice as much as similar capacity pumps, and 3-4 times the really efficient pumps.

I can get this for $130, over budget but looks good on power too?

pump is the heart of your system get a cheap one and your system suffers heart failure

Mate, i just bought the 3500lph jobbie for 96 bucks and its only 70w.

if you chose one and go to the bottom of its page it will give you head height and LPH and watts used.

go for it.

I wasn't sure if that would be enough so I bought a 6800lph for $60.

If you ran that pump 24/7@ 250w and your kwH rate is .25kwh..

then the cost is $547.5 for the year..

Yes I now realise my folly !
Maybe when my system is set up I will buy the more efficient pump.
maybe I could use the cheap one for some kind of backup when the expensive one fails. Or maybe its just a waste of money
