Good, I try to avoid chasing catfish with a net more than once a week since it stresses them so much. Almost any time I have ever gone in harvesting two days in one week, I have found a dead fish several days later (this is especially true those times I've been talked into harvesting fish two days in a row.) If I give them a week or two between they usually seem to recover.

Did you enjoy the catfish?

They don't succumb to a bait do they TC? Generally I find you can get one trout/silver perch with a bait, but then no more, but at least you get one..

ya know EB, I've never actually tried hook and bait on my catfish (part is probably because my big tank is a liner tank and not hard plastic.) But we have thought about it occasionally. I might have to with hold feed for a day to really get them interested in taking bait, the big catfish can be really lazy sometimes.

Now I bet the bluegill will be easier to catch with hook and line, they are often far splashier on the uptake.

well this is my 1000th post... wow.. time flies....

I was thinking I should post a long and drawn out msg with some kind of words of wisdom..

but I decided to just thank all the members of this great site for the continued information and support from my newbie days up until now and into the future.....

Aquaponics would be a lot harder if it were not for the dedicated owners of this site and
their willingness to give information freely and a place for others to exchange ideas...

Thanks to all the comments and help on my systems through the years which made it much
better than I thought it would be...

to all the newbies.... take your time, read everything you can and post pictures and questions

again, thanks all

JT

Wow, just got done reading all 62 pages. Thanks for posting all this. Is the Affnan siphon better than the Bell siphon?

thanks all

Since I use them in my greenhouse AP system and I haven't had one problem since they were installed almost two years ago...

I would have to say yes..... I put them in, set the height with a removable top section and not a glitch since...
