Well Today is settlement day @ 2pm :).
Tomorrow and Wednesday, is moving day. :( (empty out the old house and rearrange the furniture in the new house 50 times or more until the missus is satisfied)
Thursday and Friday is cleaning the old house :( my last rental house :) ( not that is that messy)
The Weekend is meet the neighbours. ( or the ones that frequent the local watering Hole.) :)

I dare say tomorrow will be my last day on the net for a little bit :( although I will probably hijack either my parents or outlaws dial up account for a quick look in :). ( thats if we have a connected phone line :( )

Then next week I can start on my " help the enviroment " campain (read into that scounging for AP). :)

Am I excited ???

Cheers
Ron

Funny you say that, I had been a Motor Mechanic for more than half my life (Now retired from that line of work) and have suffered numerous lower back attacks ( extremely painful).
I now wear a brace for any heavy lifting work and have a supply of pain killers and anti-inflamitries to get me through.

Cheers
Ron.

On lower backs, nothing has helped my back more than regular walking on a variety of surfaces. Inactive for more than 2 days I have a back problem for sure.

I've never liked packing up the old house - but unpacking and moving into the new digs is FUN!

Congrats on the beginning of home ownership. Here's a bad moving story for you.

When I was a teen, we moved to a new city about 8 hours drive away. On the big day of the move, we tranquilized the Siamese cat and put her in a cardboard box in the 4-door car. My mother drove that car. My father drove the hatchback with the tranquilized sheepdog and led the way. Fishtanks with only a couple inches of water were in both cars, along with harardous stuff, houseplants, and starts for the garden. The Siamese cat started howling in the driveway and continued the rest of the trip. She had chewed her way out of the box in the first 10 minutes. The sheepdog was well relaxed and asleep, but started passing gas pretty early in the trip. We were about 5 hours through the drive when we went down an exit ramp. The cat chose this moment to try to climb up on the dashboard, the fishtank overturned in my mother's car, and strangely, there was a stop light at the bottom of the ramp. Cat and fish were all over the place, and naturally, Mom rear-ended Dad. They pulled over to assess the damage (very minor), and Dad intuitively noted that tears were running down Mom's face. "The dog is farting. Do you want to drive the other car?" She nodded.

Oh Janet! Makes our move to Cairns with the three day wait for the floodwaters to subside seem easy by comparison!

well, we are only moving a bit more than an 1hr away
Got the Tranquilizes for the cat, bet they don't work til we arrive at the new place, she's one tough puddin.
Got a thick plastic cat box, although tempted to through into the back furniture truck :) ( not in the cat box)
Well time to continue dismantling.
Cheers
Ron

Strap everything if the cat's in there, the stuff jostles and will squish poor kitty.
