I'd like one that is similar to the image processing demos I've been seeing where you can describe the image and they are sorted by how they look so you can find them easier. Like "the one that is green and white and has red flowers" and Faye is in it (because there is facial recognition now too). I'm sure a program like that exists somewhere nowadays.

Maybe the simplest way to organize all the ones you have would be to create a number of folders, fish, systems, bugs, plants, water, flower, children, etc. Place the folders in a ring around the outside of your desktop, then in the middle of your screen open up a my computer window, viewing with large thumbnails.

Then start grabbing photos and dragging them into the folders around the edge of your screen... With one hand on the keyboard using cntrl and shift you will be able to grab them in groups sometimes and move them pretty quickly...

I cant remember what it was, but I had one that claimed to do that on my linux box.

I had a photo of me and asked it to find all the others of me and it returned a long list with percentage matches.

And this bit is no joke, this actually happened...

One photo of a bowl of laksa returned an 85% match :)

And you wonder why my avatar is drawn in crayon instead of my real face :)

Faye..
I organise All of my Photo's by Date.. I keep them in the same ID that the camera Gives Them..

I also organise them by Which camera they have come from.. I have 2 so I get 2 different streams..

It has the same system as Kanga's..

Year . Month . Date . File number..
Also I have added a note as in Location of where the photo are taken.. It does help when try to identify holiday snaps..[Especially my USA trip photo's..]

Also make sure you Double up/Backup your photo's on to a secondary or even Third Hard drive edpecially if you want to keep them long time..
