G'day all,

Just joined up and want to introduce myself.

I've only discovered Aquaponics recently and am very excited about the opportunities. Due to having just lost my job, getting my own setup is going to have to wait for a little while, but I'm very keen to get one up an running. I already to lots of gardening - picked my first tomatoes of the season today - and I love catching and eating fish, and I've had an interest in aquaculture for a long time, so this is a perfect way to combine them all.

Eventually I'm going to move to Uganda to do farming and development work, and I can see the amazing potential for Aquaponics there, especially as it's where a number of Tilapia species originate from.

I look forward to learning heaps about this exciting enterprise.

Zeke.

Welcome Zeke, I think you might find that you have a few sleepless night ahead of you, researching this terribly addictive hobby. But you are amongst like minded people, sorry to hear about your job loss, one door closes and another one opens, so hopefully things will turn out for the best, you won't be bored anyway :support: Feel free to share ideas as the people here are always happy to help :)

Thanks Faye, You're right about the sleepless nights, it's after midnight now and here I am, reading through the forum, learning as much as I can... I've promised myself that I'll stop before 2am, unlike the other night... Could be worse, I could be wasting my time on something frivolous!
