Howdy folks,

I am new to aquaponics, and new to this site. My wife and I have been avid dirt gardeners for the last 10 years. We started with a little garden 25'X25' and have progressed to a garden area that is over 3 acres. We have added 2 greenhouses, to grow our bedding plants in, and winter crops. Now we have decided to expand into the area of aquaponics.
We plan on turning the smaller greenhouse into an aquaponics house. We have been looking at all the YouTube videos, and sites we can for the last month. I can see that there are a lot of different ideas and methods out there. We just got Sylvia's book, Aquaponic Gardening, and have decided this is the place to get information from people that seem to know what they are doing. I am sure we will have a lot of questions as we move along.
I have aquired four 250 gal IBC's to start with. I doubt that we will put them all into use right away, but it is a start. I am in the process of emptying out the greenhouse, and getting the heating plant in place. I will keep everyone updated as we go. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures on here I will post a few of what we are starting with and progress as we go.

at the bottom of the reply box is a button marked "Full Editor" if you are in the quick editor. Click it.

From there, if you scroll down you will see a button marked "choose file. Click it.

then select your pic (must be no bigger than 800 x 600)

Then also down the bottom click "Add the file"

Then just under the box where you write your text you will see a button that says something like "place inline" or something. put the cursor where you want the pic to go, then click that and your picture will be put there.

See, only 400 easy steps :)

And welcome, you'll love it here.

Welcome, look forward to seeing your pics and your system expanding.
They have a habit of doing that and with 3 acres, the mind boggles :)

Good luck.

Thanks for the welcome Dave and DuiNui.

We were out measuring today, the original plan is out the window. We look to be able to add more grow space by rearranging things. Once we do all the math and I sketch in the plumbing, it looks like we will have a plan, at least. :thumbright:

It's really worth starting a system thread and putting up lots of pictures of even the bare site, and any plans to get feedback from all these amazing people.

It has been a little over 6 months since I started this thread. I need to start a new topic in the system thread.
