Sort of. I've got a blue barrel with 50 litres of the K1 and air being supplied by one of the disk membrane. My headache is trying to secure the membrane disk to below the blue barrel. Also, headache on how to stabilize the blue barrel. Also it clutters the fishtank.

So if I can get rid of it, fine...else I think I need to make something up outside of the fishtank.

The extra K1 bag is definitely excess.

You could have the blue barrel outside the tank and pump water to the bottom of the barrel, and just have an overflow back to the fish tank. Its what I plan to do with a smaller bucket/barrel in the greenhouse to help out.

Yep. It would have to be a large terracotta/glazed pot though. My wife would kill me if it looked ugly.

I am guessing the blue barrel has holes in the bottom if you have been using it in the fish tank. I would be interested if the barrel were intact so I could make an external filter for my big system

Thanks for the offer, I've a few ideas floating around my head at the moment....might just wait until the system is in full swing before changing anything.

Looking at getting some Cod from Glenwaters this weekend....so the less change the better right now...

Yep, the bottom of the barrel has a 300mm hole with a rain water tank mossie fitting. Around the bottom is also 5 rows of 5mm holes.

VLT.. I think I get the idea behind your Filtration..

I'm think'n that I will need to Pull my finger out and start to make the extra stuff I'm planing to make for my system..

1 of them is a moving media system..

Also with regard to making stuff so that is does not stand out why not painted it so that it is not so out standing..
- I have seen many lovely colour schemes the best ones seem to be Camouflage patterns..

One of the pond designer/builders in LA uses sand/dirt colour scheme.. works very well..

When I get the chance I will update my system thread. Basically comes down to a very small yard so painting or camo makes little difference.

I'll have about 3000 litres of filtration without the K1.
