Got this in the email today from portable farms. What do you guys think? Is it just me or are they heating the water and cooling it at the same time? isn't this a bit counter productive?

What a heap of cr@p. that's a scam. Salmon can be done in a normal ap
System, tony from tas was doing it with atlantic salmon I think.

Yeah... and he runs a "university" for aquaponics... well actually, the training is just about how to set up his exorbidantly priced second rate systems...

Stay away from him... there's not a single good review of his systems, or his business dealings... from anyone who's been involved with him...

And he tends to move around a lot... now into central american countries....

He does seem a bit sketchy. Have any of you actually seen his products?

I've seen some photos... usually from a distance... and there's a youtube video of a sizeable, new, unplanted timber/lined gravel grow bed system....

Hmmmm I was wondering if anyone had any friends who had one. I am curious as to the quality of such an expensive system.

It's not the quality so much from what I hear/read... it's the approach to customers.... and the design problems...

There's a bloke on the US community forum.. that's been trying to retrofit one of the systems fro months to make it work... and not a positive comment to be found elsewhere...

lol Rupe. I guess he needs to get someone to right a good review for him. He seems to have a fairly large company. But the ap degree or whatever is total bs.

I'm starting to wonder if AP should have a rule that no one can charge for training.

I think it would be a very good rule. I believe there are a lot of people making way more money at teaching fake aquaponics techniques than actually growing anything.

Yeah and generally at the cost of AP in general because people get turned away thinking it doesn;t work well.. I mean hell, if the people who run the AP university aren't good at getting systems to work well it must be bloody hard...

What a Load of Crap.......

I love this one comment...
"""Now the bad news: Blueberries do not do grow in an aquaponics system, YET. Portable Farms Ltd continues to work on that requirement and someday we’ll be able to announce that yes, you can grow salmon, tomatoes and blueberries in the system. Until then, enjoy salmon with tomatoes."""

I am going to grow a few blueberry plants in my system...
