Wow, sure you haven't got barra?
I can only guess that since my SP grew up with the goldfish they are used to them. I see them resting side by side all the time never any sign of harassment.
If you look close enough at my pic you can see the SP, while some are still small others are bigger than the goldfish.

Sorry it didn't go well.

Same, same...never had an issue between the two. My goldfish are comets so they have the speed to keep up and don't have all the frilly bits.

If they are what I think they are and of a descent size, yes they can be expensive..

But then I have My goldfish with other fish and they have done fine..

It sort of Pee's me off I did not say some thing at the start of this Topic..
As some fish just don't mix...

You could of had the gold fish in a separate tank linked into the water cycle Like this..
Image
The Blue Barrel you see on its side is My Fry tank..
It benefits from not having to have a separate filtration system as it is hooked up to the Main filtration system inline of the main Pond Return..

It works well and the baby's are growing well..

Lets get side tracked..

It is very similar to a set-up that I saw in Colorado, USA.. But then that was a KOI set-up.. and his fish are doing great.. Actually they should be coming on the market in a few month's.. Fry to 12"+ Chagoi, Asagi, Ochiba in about 9-10months is a monster job..
- He was talking of buy 1 ton of food for his fish..

Sorry for the Side track..

Yes some Goldfish are to slow to go in with a predator type fish..

So sorry for the loses..

Juergen

I have comets in with the jade perch and they are doing fine, but those fat fancy ones I wouldnt put with perch. Silvers can be aggressive buggers

Found one of my 5 goldfish floating and half eaten the other day, so the silvers will attack them. They must be getting hungry with the weather warming a bit :D

I have 4 SP and 4 comets in the one tank, they seem to be doing well, but have noticed some fin trimming on the comets... The comets are probably twice the size of the SP though so it may just be a case of they can't get there mouth around them!
