Hi all my names Darryn

i first saw aquaponics at the royal show 2010 and been checking bits and pieces out ever since. i found a cheap system come up and couldnt pass on it (the bug had been biting too long) so i got it. i was mainly chasing the components out of the kit and improve it with BYAP grow beds (i like the look of them best) when the time comes around but for now i set the system up as is and see how i go.

so far i have had the system a week but all i havnt been able to do much in this time as i have had to clean out all the hydron of all the soil and slugs. Today i filled the system with water and got the timer set up and the water flowing.

The system is a flood and drain with a 1000L fish tank and 2x 200L barrels but in half for grow beds which im guessing it would give me around the 300L mark of actual usable area. Im looking at adding the fish to the system by the end of next week and go from there.

i'll hopfully get pictures up some time soon and see where it all taken me
