Got the call today, the call that the rental we are living in is sold.

We have till the 30th December to move out. We are on holidays and out of town from the 20th-31st December, if you take this into account it leaves us 20 days to find a house and move out or our holiday is cancelled.

Have looked around for another house and we are looking at about $600 per week rent for anything decent. And that is some thing basic. Its times like this Kalgoorlie frustrates me.

Our Christmas has all of a sudden gone to SH*T!!

Why would they do this to someone at this time of year?

Charlie. I am not sure that is enough notice. Are you still under a lease or week to week agreement?

I have been on a month by month thing for the last few months. I checked with my mum (shes in realestate) they only need to give 30 days. But yea, first thing that came to mind Arbe.

The last few months we have been totally co-operative, open house every weekend (you could understand the cleaning), moving stuff for painters, moving the beds and toys and furniture for new carpet in all the bed rooms. Its been a total pain in the bum...and then we get this!

All the time they promised us it wouldnt be until febuary before anything would happen. :dontknow:

Hiya..

I would ask for more time as you need more time..

or find out what is happening with the house[New owner] are they putting it up for rent or are they moving in..

If for rent find out their Price... it might be what you can afford..

They are moving in snow, and they want in as soon as possible.

Just might work out that we squat till ready. Although I dont want to mess up my stirling rental track record.

Lighter side is we looked at a place today that had another block attached to it that is actually all one but seperated by a fence (does that make sense?) But anyway, looks like a a perfect location for system 2 CHARLIES BIG SYSTEM EXPANTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

wish I could attach music for that statement....like eye of the tiger or something... :thumbleft:

Is Kalgoorlie a good place to buy rental properties Charlie, is there a lot on the market?

Faye I don't live there..

But I have come across a few People Who[A few years ago] started to buy up cheap property's and Fix them them up for the rental Market..
I think that there might be a short coming of Rentals in the area which is why they can charge what they charge for the charge for Rental's..
I might be wrong But that is what I have heard..[I might be Wrong]

Its really booming Faye.

I didnt realise how much it had evolved. There isnt much on the market therefore the massive rise in rent. We have a house in NSW and cant afford another here so that is why we are renting for the moment. Unfortunately you dont get much for your money here but the rental returns are fantastic.

Have a snoop on realestate.com.au if your interested how crazy the market is here as its hard to explain.
A house you pay 600/week here you would probably pay $350 in perth...or less.

Yea cant argue with that roo, have a mate who moved up north recently and rent was around $1800/week, although the company he is working for is paying for that. Cant imagine how you could survive paying it yourself.

System expansion has got me excited and have already drawn up some basic sketches of what I have in mind, it is stressing me slightly on the actual move and set up time frame I will have to tackle, as well as where my current set up is may prove to be difficult to get at to start with. I can possibly see me shovelling all the media out if I cant get a fork lift in to lift them. See how we go anyways.

Cheers mate :thumbleft:

Hi all.

Thought Id do one last update of my systems before the move because they will not look like this anymore at the new location. The house is nearly packed and looking like we will be living out of box's for Christmas but we will still make the most of it.

Tested water today (havnt done it for a while) Must be cycling due to warmer weather and SP becoming more active.
