Welcome chibikaie!

You're in the right place, start a thread with pictures of your system and bunnies. Polyculture is the go, as they say.

Thanks, David! :)

I am terrified of plumbing (let us just say that power tools and I do not get along), so I only have little styrofoam rafts in the top of the tank right now. I am VERY encouraged by the forum, though. (Well, that, and in only four days, I have seen root and new leaf growth, so this must be easier than raising soil plants.) You guys have TONS of ideas and tips! And you're all so nice and supportive! It's amazing.

I currently have a 35 gal. aquarium setup right now with different types of fish and a turtle. I have a very basic GB setup and can't seem to get anything to grow from it. I'm wondering if some one could help out with what I'm doing wrong?

My grow bed is a little shower suction cup holder. It has holes in the side of it already so it allows flow. I put a split filter filled with aquarium gravel, and a air stone. It just sits in the water for that the bubbling water just touches the top of the gravel. So the plants are always in the water.

My lighting is a 150 watt Metal Halide with a 20k bulb.

I've been taking random plats from out side and putting them in to see how they do. The always just yellow and shrivel up. I have some seedlings in there that are sprouting and seem to be doing okay.

Any advice for a newbie?

thank you for fast reply. I feed my fish flake food, shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and sinking gold fish pellets. My turtle eats typical turtle sticks and dried shrimp. I'm not sure on how to post pictures to the internet.

to post a pic it needs to be smaller than 800 by 600
at the bottom when your posting in full editor there is place to upload attachments just click choose file and you should be able to add it from there

That is so awesome - i want one! as for the yellow leaves, im not entirely sure, could be right about the water level though, it is usually recommended to have 2 inches dry media above the water line.

Another problem could be the type of light, most aquarium lamps are not ideal for plants
