:headbang: We had just over 50 come by for our aquaponic tour. I wasn’t able to get many photos because I was being bombarded with questions. It went really good and lots of interested folk… :drunken: some hung out and drank beer for a few hours after :drunken: .

Looks like a great day Stucco! Was it a workshop or talk or a casual open day?

Thanks Faye! It was a great day. The tour was part of a monthly outing for the rare fruit council in our area. It was supposed to be a casual walk through but, those fruit people are not shy with their questions. Most of them are familiar with the ducks, rabbits, and worms that we are growing but, the aquaponics is still a concept here.

I’ll see what I can come up with snags.

Seriously! That is some impressive work. I am in the marine business, so when I think ferrocement, I think old clunker boats, but what you do is art. I just spent the last hour reading about ferrocement because of you.

We are crossing Flemish giant bucks with New Zealand does …it is supposed to be the best bone to meat ratio. It is very hard for me to stick a knife into one of those purdy kritters but, they be tasty.

I have an 8” pipe as a return line for the growbeds and raft tank on the large system. The entire 8 bed system flows through this pipe via bell siphon. The pipe is most of the time submerged in the sump but, I have let the water level go down for days or weeks at a time. The interesting part is… today I noticed that there were some leaves and food sticking through the holes in the strainer so I removed it and around 40 2 inch tilapia fry came pouring out into the sump. These poor little fish spent their entire life swimming against extreme current, flopping between siphon cycles and I guess that they were eating food that made it past the fish in the raft bed. now they have to deal with 95 2 pound channel cats.
