Hi guys

My cucumber plants seem to be doing okay, except that the edges of the older leaves have started to become brown and crispy. Is it a sign of a nutrient deficiency? Or something else?

pH is 7.4-7.6, amm and nitrites 0, nitrates 40. I added worm wee and chelated iron last week just in case, but not sure if that was necessary.

Thanks in advance!

Hi RH
My spaghetti squash is doing something similar. I'm not sure if thats just normal or what. I've thrown in a dash of Seasol and will wait and see. I would be very reluctant to add other amendments willy nilly though.
Iron deficiency occurs in youngest growth first because it's not a very mobile element in a plant so it can't be pulled out of old growth to support new (like magnesium for instance.)
Heres a link to a soil gardening site, but it may be a start. Some problems are closely linked to pH and not something missing.

Looks like Potassium deficiency to me..

Suggest a dosing of seasol, that should cover your bases...

Thanks guys. That Primal Seeds page is pretty useful.

Yeah, sounds like a Potassium deficiency. I'll hit it with some Seasol tonight and if that fixes it.
