Hello everyone
Im located in frankston se of melbourne, does anyone know of anywhere close or where i can purchase some silver perch and im also chasing some marron yabbies
Im thinking its a little late to bother with rainbow trout but some have been successful over summer.
its a basic system with a 1000ltr cube for a fishtank 2 400ltr growbeds with 2 500ltr sumps a new system that i will expand

Not quite sure of any fish hatcheries down your way for SP, but for yabbies though all you need is access to a good farm dam and a few nets.

It’s a nice drive, no yabbies, plenty other fish sp but ring first, haven’t been there for two years.

+1 for Glenwaters but yes ring to see what John has at the moment
Marron you wont find in Vic as we cannot keep them as far as I know. Yabbies, what bndybear said

+1 for Glenwaters and yes They do have Yabbies, not marron I don't think and they might still have a few Murray Cod..

It is about 1h20 from Hasting's a nice drive..

your right about the marron not allowed to keep them in vic.
yet there is a pocket of marron not far from me in the devil bend reserve hastings way ,but your not allowed to fish them.
So whats the next best species that will grow quick ,get to a decent size and isn't as aggressive or am i wishful thinking (murry yabbie)

Not sure what you mean by all that, marron as far as i know are not in Victoria, but proof me wrong.
For Yabbies just gain access to any farm and drop a net with some meat in it and see what you pull up in a half hour or so, if you get one or two try the nets over night.
There are some water holes on public land up my way that hold good numbers of yabbies too, which is good since you don't need permission to fish them however you cant use operahouse style nets in these public water ways either.
As for species that grows quick, are you talking fish or crustation?
Fish that grow quick in Victoria is really only trout, or Jades if your prepared to heat them through a single winter. Murray cod is a possibility but I am yet to see any possitive response in Victoria yet.
I will be trying them this year myself and will be letting everyone know how I go.
