I also got 15 SP delivered by Trevor yesterday. Must say I am impressed with the size for the price I paid. Very happy indeed. Trevor was also nice enough to pop into our backyard hand offer some advise on our AP system.

They have been very subdued today, all huddling together in the back corner of the tank, but they were more active last night. Not sure if this is due to cool weather in Perth at the moment...?

Mine are doing the same, even sticking their heads into the bits of PVC. They might get a nasty shock if there's a yabby in there. When I sneak up on them I can see them all around the tank but they quickly find a hiding place once they see me.

Keep an eye on those SP jack, I have lost many a perch to the deadly grasp of a yabbie. Be warned. :thumbleft:

Hey All.
Just got some SP's from Trevor, all happy and healthy fish. . . .way better than from "you know where" and he told me that he will have some other species of fish come Feb / March, Murray Cod and Yellowbelly. . . . would have thought Yellowbelly would be a no goer over here in WA, I hope they're not and I can get some!

That's two dead yabbies now. Is this common with yabbies? All the fish are looking ok still

My SP have been much more lively the last couple of days. Just wondering what other people are doing about blocking sunlight from entering their FT. I have an IBC system but I just have a thin mesh over the FT opening, and I have painted the exterior of the FT. I noticed the IBC system at BYAP has shade cloth around it. Is anyone else doing this or something similar to keep the FT nice and dark?

Shadecloth would have done the same thing, but we had a roll of green hessian, and to break the greening cycle wrapped the ibc to keep the light out, now we just have biofilm, the water is crystal clear, the trout are jumping and the veges are going balistic :thumbright:

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I will stick with the current setup for now and if I get issues with algae then I ca add some additional shade.
