Thanks.... with the panels, it makes it easy to close the GH in the fall and open it up in the spring....

decided to fix my ongoing problem with the outdoor AP system... The 150 gallon (568l) tank will pop out of the ground if we get a lot of rain..... I have been meaning to convert it to a block ST like the one in my GH for a year, guess its time to do it...

well the rain is finally over......

came through ok.......

I did find a surprise in the GH.... the panels that I put on for winter are 2 x 2 wood and covered on both sides with clear PVC plastic.....

I silicone the plastic and then staple along the silicone line to make them a dead air space....

for some reason, I have one panel that wasnt sealed quite enough...

Just an update to HD SPOKE's progress...

he is now 18 1/2 weeks old and gaining an average of 4 pounds a week....

thats a large office chair he has taken over from me :)

BTW: HD is supposed to stand for Harley Davidson, but lately it stands for
hundred dollars - what it costs everytime he goes to the vet...

:headbang:

Hey JT, I'm going to put a boardwalk over my FT maybe this weekend, and I'm wondering what to coat the wood with. You used clear polyurethane on your wood right?

Hey dave...

yes poly

how I do it is to sand the wood to open up the grain..... 150-180 grit...

the first coat, I thin the poly about 1/4 so it sinks into the wood

let it dry completely

then I give it two more coats of normal thickness of poly.... sanding lightly in between each coat

HTH's

jt
