Nice tank. How heavy is it? Don't know what your area is like where you are building but I wonder... before you build and fill, could you slide a pallet under to assist in the moving and transport?
Same for your growbeds. Heavy duty plastic pallets, metal, or strong wooden pallets may help when it comes time to move. Forklift or forks on a bobcat, set it on a trailer and transport to the new location.
Then you could keep your fish in the tank, keep your water, media, and bacteria where it is without disturbing it too much.

It's Steel Ply and Fibre glass, No it's not to heavy, and as you will see i have it sitting higher now! and as for moving it will be empty when i move as the fish will only be in there for 6months or so, this one is a trial for the bigger system :thumbleft:

and the black drum is were the bacteria are living .... well i hope anyway

Great pics wolve!!

Wish I had a pipe cutter when I was starting out. :D

Your pics sparked me to think.... Why isnt there a fitting for pipework that is similar to those electrical cable grommet fittings? (sorry dont know the name of them) Or is there...?

Looking good..

I've been trying to track down some eggcrate locally, to use instead of gutterguard, but havn't had any luck yet.. will try an aircon place in adelaide next week when I go down there..

Will try to get you on MSN or something, for that order etc.. I think i saw a link to that somewhere..

Looking very good mate, I have combined NFT with my IBC setup. Have a look at pics on my forum later... You need to ensure you have good filtration to your channels or they will block up frequently, especially as you fish get bigger and make more solids.

I see from the picture that you cut the "bell" or flared end off that pipe. It could be just my thrifty nature here making a suggestion that you keep that piece stashed away somewhere. I find them handy using that piece as a coupler. Have even used it to raise my standpipe water level in my growbeds.
Can never have enough fittings.
Pictures are always good.
Go, man, go.
