Looks great OBO. I could use some of that grass you have between the growbeds since my backyard has so many cutworms the grass doesn't grow. On the up side I have no fish food shortage :D .

Do you manually pollinate your corn Col? Tricks, hints?

I have 14 planted in the garden this year, decided that the 5 last summer just wasnt enough for pollination as they were spread too far apart. Bit of a rookie on corn.

I don't know if you need to pollinate by hand but if you wind up having to do this one way is to just use a lunch size paper bag. You put the bag over the tassel. Hold the bag closed while you shake it or give it a few smacks to get pollen in the bag. Then just distribute to the silk on the ears. When they cross pollinate to make new hybrids they just leave the bag over the ear to prevent other unwanted pollination.

Yeah, I have had awesome Corn crops and crappy ones as well.

Apparently, you just plant the whole punnet / packet of seeds in one area, and they do their thing.

I am going with the whole punnet in one spot approach, already have two beds of eared corn... time will tell if its a bit early for them.

Nah, all the big ones are gone now....its when I have 50 Trout that have been ordered for a banquet.

Really wanted to provide them fresh, but its looking pretty unlikely at the moment.

Would it not help to keep temps down if you wrapped all the growbeds with 80% shade cloth. Correct me if I am wrong, but have you not got a whole bunch of heat collectors on your hands at the moment. :dontknow:

The dollars to do that are more than the fish are worth. 96 IBC at 4 meters of shade cloth each.

If they have to come out its no problem, been lucky to keep them this long.

Hi OBO

with your water temperatures being 25 degrees and probably above, have you cut back on feeding the trout.?
