No experience with them but they are very slow growing and very dull apparently. Jade perch on the other hand grow very rapidly and are hoot to feed
It is all up to you though eh

Hey Miner, we have Jades too. We also have a smaller system with some native rainbow fish in it and a couple of eel-tails

I'm here!!! in Mount Crosby, just outside Brissie.

Jades: They are just starting to eat again.
Silvers: Great feast, when I killed em late Winter!!
Sleepy Cod: 200mm Long, small fillets wrapped around Prawn mousse and grilled. Absolutely magnificent
Gold Fish: Unkillable.

Dill Going mad ( great for cleaning and giving flavour to BBQ plate) especially in salads by the chopped handfull.
Herbs: Coriander and Basil unkillable, best herbs for A.P. IMHO.
Bok Choy: 1st time salads with Crispy egg noodles (gluten free because of Her-In-The_Garden"s tricky tummy) sliced Almonds and dressing; just the best ever!
Carrots and Silver Beet: Better in dirt gaqrden.
Tomatoes: Can completely clog a system with root growth, but Romas are just great for my Gout!!

Come and have a look,

Cheers Ian K

Gday,
Just thought I'd add to this thread as my first post :)
I live in Brissy and have just invested in 2 fine blue barrels ($25 northside).
That's as far as I have got so far, I was hoping to get into contact with some other SE Queenslanders and maybe check out their systems !

GDay Superveg,

Well there are plenty of Queenslanders out there. Good luck with the system.

Hoping to pool our knowledge as its a bit different in the tropics to down south.

I'd say if you ask anyone involved its a world of fun.

The Miner.
