Hey folks. Thought I would start this and combine all my AP systems and the patch in general in one place.
IBC system is running on peeponics, the big system has various sized silver perch, catfish and a couple of Bass, while the small greenhouse system has 4 goldies, 2 catfish, 1 bass and 4 small silvers. :)
The IBC system is waiting for the weather to warm for 22 Jades that are in an aquarium in the shed.
Anyhoo, heres a look around. I am really glad I went out to take this video as its when I discovered I had left the top up hose running in the sump. I dont know if I would have remembered if I hadnt gone out there :?

What kind of camera do you have that you can dunk it into the water like that?

One of these Bill

Only drawback with it is it makes .mov files which are huge and cutting them down to usable size is a bit of a pain

There wasnt enough light to get a good look at the fish but I will do some better vids in the upcoming holidays when I can get out there in the middle of the day.

Decided to pull out a blue barrel bed from the greenhouse system and redo the delblock supports under the beds. I will replace it with another 160L black tub bed like the others in there.
Dug the gravel out and found only a thin layer of sludge in the bottom of the bed and it has been running 24/7 for over a year

Also got an ibc bed up and running on the fish pond. The fish look happier already with the water movement and splashing :D

Well manto did a dumb dumb thing.
Left the top up hose running in the sump of the ibc and forgot it till this morning, so town water running through the system all night.
Tonight 4 goldies, 5 silvers and 1 bass dead, but 5 catfish and 2 yabbies still swimming.
I really should learn :upset:

A tap timer works for me.. I'm too easily distracted, so if I need the hose i just flick the timer around to 5 or 10 mins..

Amph..

Yeah, I have a tap timer on it but its old and jams. Good point though. Off to get a new one
One of the catfish was dead this morning and two others very sluggish so I put them back in the big system. The other two seemed ok , for now.

Get an autofill. a cheap all plastic toilet cistern fill valve and plumb it to the end of a pipe. hang said pipe in sump at right height for minimum water height. Solves 2 problems a. sump running out of water b. forgetting the hosepipe running in the sump when topping up. Actually solves a third problem too. needing to have to top up the sump ever. 8)
