I think my compost worms are breeding up a storm. I pulled out a small root ball yesterday and found a worm and 3-4 worm eggs :D

System is looking great. Looks very similar to the plans I had in my head of my setup. Had a look through the thread but cant find anything on your siphons, to they drain straight into the sump or do they drain into a common larger return pipe?

Reason I ask is some people say that if the siphon is too long it will have issues, have you found that?

I dont have siphons as such just regular stand pipes :)

Also HSM today, i killed all my SP :( dont know how though. Will put up pics in a bit. All silvers 5-7cm long.

Ammonia - 1
Nitrate - 5
Nitrite - 0
PH - 7.8 up from 7.4

I havent checked on the SP in the ST for maybe 3 days or so. Most were floating, seems like some died a while ago some recently.

I have added salt to 2-3pp. Trout not affected at all.

SP are pretty hardy, I wouldnt expect a weather swing to harm them vlt.

Nothing else has happened recently, only big change is changing trout feed from 2mm to 7mm but that shouldnt have affected anything.

I havent done anything to the grow beds either.

The weather has been all over the place though. Was sunny one day then freezing for the next 2 but i dont know if that would kill them or not.

The cold spell would be enough to top them. Where were your SP sourced, locally or from a different climate?

I sourced them from rupert so should be good stock. Sucks that i have had them for 7 months or so and was finally be able to fatten them up :(

I think this time around i will get some advanced stock which i can harvest before they go idle as it were.
