plants are looking better. Doing some recovery after the transplant shock. Water is clearing a little but not fast enough to suit me.

Patience Donone. The water will clear. The less you check on it the faster it will occur: its like watching a kettle boil.

Seems to be a reoccurring theme, that patience word.

All through the threads I read the same word. Have patience things will cycle. Have patience things will work themselves out. Easy to say, hard to do. I hate having to learn patience.

Yep if you're patient enough it will get down to forty degrees and your tomatoes will stop ripening.

At the bottom it still says I'm the only one here.
I have no patience. I am no damn doctor.
I just have a AP garden that is slow to cooperate..lol
The water is starting to clear. I think I might even try to clean the bottom of the tank a bit so it is not the same color as the fish. But I will not do that till I am sure the system is working right. The Ph should start to decrease soon I hope.

It will Don. My pH started at 8.2/8.4 about 6 months ago and now sits at 7.6 which is buffered by the shell grit I have placed in my sump.

It came down naturally. I didn't want to play with it as I was too worried that swings would cause more damage than having a high pH sort itself out.

Yeah I am not doing anything about it either. Just think that the water changes I have done by mistake should have had an effect. I probably have changed out about 150% of the water since I changed the gravel.

Here we go with another update. I am beginning to think that the system is finally cycled for sure. I started pumping 24/7 and the water finally cleared up. The tank was so covered with algae on the sides and bottom so that I could not see the fish. So I cleaned up a spot and really clouded up the water. An hour or so later it was clear again. So I think it is working, I mean filtering out the stuff like it is supposed to. Later I cleaned up some more and it cleared up quick again. So I cleaned it up more and look at that. I have fish in the tank and can see them. I was able to take a picture and see the fish. I love it. You can see the Channel Cats and the Blue Gills.

I think the Ph is coming down a bit also. Todays readings are
Ph 8.1
Am less than 0.25
Rites 0
Rates 5
Temp is about 70F
:D :D
I got to eat a tomato today. A small one but there recovering nicely.

Well we had a freeze here a couple of days ago and it killed about 95% of my plants in the AP garden.
Now I am worrying about the ammo going up. I quit feeding so I hope it does not go to fast. I am starting more seeds but that will take a while.

Zip down to the local hardware store and get a punnet or two of cabbage/broccoli

I would have gotten a bunch of new plants but here they have stopped carrying them a couple of weeks ago. Say they got so they could not sell them in the winter. They only had a few cabbage/brockley any way. I planted some seeds directly about 10 days ago but only got three to poke up their heads. still very small. I will be looking in town tomorrow tho.
