If you use a auto siphon you can not use pump timer and run smaller pump full time. Nicer on pump not being turned on and off all the time last much longer and turn tank volume over faster but burn more power..Also the auto siphon adds to aeration. To each thier own im sure someone here will have a fair argument for the other way around.. but i prefer auto siphons otherwise very cool setup.. i would love to do something like this indoors for small herb bed.

Alright little starter "proof of concept" system.... OK for a couple of goldfish and a few lettuce/herbs...

You know what else it's good for? Classrooms, retirement homes, kitchen herb gardens, kid's bedrooms, family rooms, sun rooms, offices, doctor's waiting rooms...
