Heres a pic of a nice wild cutthroat I caught at the river this year..
Rod is 6wt Fenwick Eagle GT
medium sink line
4.6 pound tippet
Barbless Beadhead Silver Rolled Muddler Minnow is what took this fish..
Caught in a ice cold tributary off Nanaimo River so was really active and put up a nice fight

Is a cutthroat a trout or a salmon?

Native Cutthroat Trout. Know its not farmed cuz rear fin is not loped off. You can get sea run cutthroat on certain rivers near ocean.. much larger in size.
