Congratulations Joel. Sounds like a well cared for car. While you might have had lower repair bills with the camry it's not nearly as sharp looking or as fun to drive. Enjoy yourself, those are pretty fast with the acceleration :thumbright:

Audi's are a damn good model over this side of the world. A full history is always good.

Nope. You're no where near as arrogant as he is.

nice one Joel, nice colour too. Thing is... it will always be worth what you have paid for it so long as it remains well looked after.

Well, it's only been a few days but still enjoying driving it.. This has a downside because I'm meant to be walking to work.

Took it to Eddie (Fayes husband) today for the look over and fix up of anything that needs it. initial quick look over and test drive seemed positive with not a lot that needs work by the look of it. Saw something really dodgy done by someone in the past on the car. A power steering fluid hose had a small split and fluid was leaking out and running down the hose. Rather than replace it, someone got a big piece of sponge and cable tied it to the hose so that it soaks up the oil as it runs down the hose. Of course this only works for so long... I guess that must have been a home made fix up, I hope it wasn't a mechanic...

Did you say you won a car Redbeard? Nice going...

This is Joel's car.... :) Joel hasn't had a car in a while it's always just been work ute type vehicles.. In fact it was hard to not still look at utes and other commercial vehicles. Couldn't help but think, well why not buy a ute or van, then put the log on the side etc...

Same for me Joel.

I drove Utes for years, then earlier this year I bought this

About 2 weeks later I needed to pick up something and had to borrow a ute
I realise how often I actually used it now.

However it is nice not helping everyone move houses all the time! 8)

Seems like I'm making a habit of it... Working on owning a whole stable of European vehicles.. :)

This one is a volvo 850 T-5, with mods, and it's a red rocket...

All the fancy bits inside, lovely leather interior with some of the comfiest seats possible.. Dual zone climate control, traction control, trip computer, electric everything, etc..

Yes, yes, you can laugh if you want it has a wood grain dash

But it has a 5cy 2.3L Turbo engine that can do some pretty amazing things when it's been tweaked a bit. With a 0-100km of 6 seconds or less and a 1/4 mile time of sub 15 seconds, it puts plenty of HSV's and WRX's to shame.

Fastest car I've ever had... What I'd really like is the real "brick", the 850R station wagon... People get really upset in their sports cars if a volvo family brick has more get up and go... And even when you tend to drive with a heavy foot I'm getting 10L/100..

Owned by a volvo mechanic, cost me 3 grand.. I love it, now I have the choice when I want to go somewhere it can be in the Swedish rocket sport mobile that shreds tyres, or the quiet German cruising car. $6,500 for both cars, insurance is only $650 for both, rego will probably be the most expensive, but seeing they are both still fairly small cars it shouldn't be too bad...

I might get a bowling hat... That would complete the look of it.... :)

Then no one ever expects it to do things like this..
