What you going to do with it Zed man ?
Its only used for stock feed... good if you have chooks
In the real world [as opposed to AP, lol ] alfalfa or lucerne as its called here has a tap root of up to 10 meters

Dammit i just had a look what alfalfa was, I was thinking they were bean sprouts lol.

I might grow some to see if the silver perch wants to take a stab at them -_-

Apparently its got a high protein (up to 35%) content and soluble fiber.

The seed is used for salad sprouts... thats prolly where you got the idea.

It is one of the highest protein fodders around.. thats why used in race horse feed.

It is also used as a "green compost", as it is a nitrogen fixing plant in soil. You would not be able to grow enough in AP to get a usable amount. It is also a very low value plant, and your beds would be put to better use growing something more pallatable. I can't imagine that the SP would touch it. It is commonly pelletised, and you could get a small amount of it from a feed store to try for very cheap. Beats tying up a growbed IMO.
