I wonder..... you know lead can pretty much make you go crazy, there's all sorts of stories in humanity's past where people discover an empty ship in the arctic ice and their crew mummified in the ice dragging a couch the opposite way to home camp - they eventually worked out that they were using lead to reseal the tins.

Definitely weird but I've watched the videos EB mentioned and the guy wasn't unhinged then. That's why I think it's onset of dementia of some kind.
