Yes it would :)

And I want to be able to give people that opportunity.
Just as I want that opportunity.

You might not have to pay for land if you look around. Any mining company that is left with empty land may want to unload it if your community is going to help turn it around.

I was recently looking at a property pretty rare to find it so cheap but 1300acres for 70k but then again it wouldn't really suit this kind of thing because its all scrub but for me it would be perfect clear a small part for a house and ap and a nice solar system then use the rest for bowhunt feral animals such as goats and deer :) I've got a mate whos pretty keen on the property aswell but I think its just one of those things atm a lot of money tied up in property and its a matter of selling before buying

Hmm... I have that property on my list I believe :)
1,366 Acres for $70K even.

Based on my proposal, that would be a group buy of 7 members (families/groups).
A lot of land to work with.
Areas can be cleared for housing and with Permaculture designs, would make for excellent food forests.

Oops, forgot to add that it has a downside... It is a Perpetual Leasehold property. Doesn't say if it can be converted to Freehold or not.
So for a generational property or community, not really ideal unless it can be converted.

Oh whats that, you invested your money in a venture like this and it hasn't progressed and you've lost your money?
And you wonder why there is sceptics?

Oh and posting on a public forum was bound for "negative scepical comments", you should have just done a mass spam email across the country you'd be sure to find some poor unsuspecting suckers that way!

That's where I guess they never discussed their building strategies or provided information of building methods and materials?

I never said that I lost my money. In fact if it were to be wound up I'd probably realise a 200% profit. I said that the project hadn't progressed and the bigest reason for that is the personalities involved and not that there was not enough discussion but rather too much. The biggest problem has been the endless discussions and the inability to make decisions.

Ahh yes that can also be a killer I suppose.

That is where a majority choice rules I guess.
But that's where people need to know that before going in.

Strong foundations and all that.

Good to hear that you haven't lost out on it.

Hi Chilli,

It has been a while. My system is all packed up and being stored in a shed here in town for the time being  What a mission to bag all that hydroton, and move the garden yet again.

I bought a house here in Onslow, and the tennent is out, come mid October, so hopefully, I might be able to get the system reconfigured, cycled, and, restocked with Barra, before the summer hits again.

To have an operational garden again  I would still like to get the BSF thing happening, it has eluded so far.

Visited a tiny community like this just up the road from me a while ago, about five families I think, was really interesting, might have a google of the ones mentioned in Denmark

The one near me:

they even had a nice fish lake and reed beds to clean their effluent
