My media has actually settled by 3 cm. Probably when I moved house a few months ago.

Thats a good thing, because now I can add another 20L of scoria

I put 1/2 a cap in last night

With my shortened siphon*, I'm probably running around 115 litres (30 gallons) of water.

How much seasol should I add.

was it enough to tint the water? If so it was probably enough, otherwise you might put in another half cap full.

I just found this in my glass house. Is this a black soldier fly?

Nice pic..... Love those water droplets showing a tree or something in the background.... Excellent... Ummm What? A fly? Does look like one, but normally they have quite obvious/dark antennae. Perhaps I just can't see them in that pic.

Yeah its our big tree that takes up most of the yard.

It's a pity I didn't get full focus on the front of him. I need an SLR again, I've got an old film one, but I haven't used it since I got a digital happysnap.

The bubbles look like the way documentaries demo bee's eyes.

If I keep taking my camera into the new hot house, I'll need to buy a new one when this one goes mouldy :)

Which is nice.

Massive water temp swings are not so good for the fish, in a "billabong" or natural enviroment there is a water column where the fish can find a comfortable temperature to sit. Not so in a blue barrel or IBC.

can anyone remember seeing a doco about a japanese village where they washed their pots and pans by giving them to the koi to play with? There was a link on BYAP somewhere, and I cant for the life of me remember how to find it.

I want to share it with someone and its driving me nuts

Cool thanks

Is that a BSF or am I paying photographic tribute to a plague carrier or something :)

I wish I had the camera to get the tree and the fly in focus.

I cropped it, and rotated it a little, and found this years landscape :) Actually its more of an earth scape. I think that's Europe!

And I just noticed that the fly looks like it's carting around its own venus fly trap on its back!

Some folk will do anything for attention.

Must be a goth fly.

Who needs a death obsession? Just keep moving slowly forwards in thyme.
