in my system i have gold fish, i want to get one or two koi, is it bad if the water flows around the tak making the fish have to swim agianst it? the gold fish i have swim in one spot agianst the current do they get tired? i slowed the pumps doen and changed the directon of the return flows agianst each other, i wanted the tank to swirl contantly to keep waste floating so it gets sucked up but when i slow it down so they can just chill the waste settles in the bottom of the tank

Some fish seem to like having a current to swim against. Some folks have observed their fish swimming into the current, having a big, fast swim, then swimming back out of the current and having a rest.

My goldies seek out the current of water flowing in through the base of my IBC... they seem to enjoy it ... my barra used to do the same, so its okay I guess as the olny time I have lost fish has been through my forgetful nature...
