Can some silvers be more cold tolerant than others. Maybe the temps of where the stock comes from may have an effect.

this could be the case, I did purchase them from QLD, i'd go on a hunger strike too if I was forced to move from QLD to VIC

Got mine from QLD as well, and they are not eating much at all with tank temps of 10 ish

Yeah I have thought this may be the case but i'm not so sure. I got some fish from OBO (thanks Col) which originally came from Jurien Bay (much farther north and warmer) and at the moment they are feeding very well every day. These fish were not in as good a condition as my other brood fish which generally are not feeding as much. I think that fish that go into the winter in good condition with plenty of stored fat dont feed as much as those that are a little lean. Smaller fish under 250gms also tend to feed more than the larger fish.

Yeah a bit cooler than where you are chilli but I see that Jandakot has been getting down to zero these last few mornings too.

Yeah, it's nice up here. When I go to work (6:15am) the thermometer says it's 7-8°C while the radio tells me it's 2-3°C in the city - can't complain about that.

Well it worked. I threw in about 20 red wrigglers and they didnt last long. Thanks for the tip CD

Ours are still very slow ATM, hardly feeding.... Mine at home seem to be feeding a little better, water temps here at home are about 11 degrees..

Cold ass a witches but, both day and night. 12 -14 day and frost to what ever at night so fuc8king cold. Silvers are hating me
