I tried 90mm all the way (worked OK) then at the base of the T (to tank bottom) I tried 50mm and it worked better. So then I stepted the 50 down to 32mm with an angled cut on the bottom pipe and works the best of all. Mind you I still have 90 T piece and out the side exit of the tank all the way to separation filter..

The tank holds 20 large Barra (big poopers) and I can tell you that when I pump up a big head in the tank, say 100mm above the T piece, with an extension on top of T Piece (6000 L/m into IBC) the smaller pipe creates the best suction and velocity to pick up the crap. Can easily remove and put the 90 back in, but why :dontknow:

bit of a update

well nearly getting there

i think there's something wrong with my water? talk about a red tide

Image

well thats what happens when you wash scoria in it, looking like rain tomorrow so ill drain and refill it if it does , the grass seems to love the red dust sludge, its doing very well

Image

what can i say drilling holes got tedious so i just die grinded out the sides of my tube and fixed gutter guard mesh to the holes works quite well actually.

a shot showing the layout going to move fish tank and filter a bit try make it more compact

first one filled with washed scoria talk about time consuming
