I get errors sometime when trying to view YouTube videos. Switch to another browser or device (in my case PC to iPhone or vice versa) and it works.

I just put it down to the wonders of technology.

Bugger...... Did I tell you how much I am hating our hosting provider at the moment..... :upset:

Oh well seems like we may have lost about the last week or so worth of photos, from the upgrading time, till the host finally copied the photos over.. Better to lose a weeks worth rather than 5 years worth I guess. :dontknow: See there's always a bright side.

Sorry to those who's threads are mucked up..

Yeah, pretty much exactly 1 weeks worth of photos have gone missing, but the hosting provider has finally given me a way to download all the photos from the forum for backing up properly. I'll then be able to incrementally download them in the future by date any newer images.. I was out with my estimation on the number of pictures in the forum.. Over 35,000....

Can't see how the host provider can claim last weeks photos are "lost".... they were posted.. and as such uploaded to a folder on one of their servers...

All they have to do is find them... unless THEY have lost them... i.e deleted to folder...

could have overwritten the "new" folder with the old folder if it had the same name

Only if the hosting provider is staffed by complete morons... and/or doesn't have nightly backups...

Either way... I'd fire them if I ran the business... or change providers...

oh, i agree,, just something i've seen happen..change a path, move a folder, rename and overwrite..
i work on servers, so from our developer's point of view, it's probably a hardware issue

Yeah I think they used the wrong switch in their command is my guess.... :dontknow:

Anyway, all good now, if only they would have given me the Sftp details at the start I could have done the whole thing.. Oh well, in future I'll be able to now...

Took over 16-18 hours to download all the 35,000 images, though the FTP software crashed out about 4 times during the day and had to be restarted.

This is an outright complaint. Before the update I did not have to login every 5 min like I do now. Change it back! Please. This forum is neither private or confidential and I really like it that way. It was only edits that last 5 min before not the logins.

Don when you log on... try ticking the "Log me on automatically" button... I always do, and have never been logged off ... before or after the upgrade...
